Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited 2004-current

• Remuera New World Store: This redevelopment whilst existing store trading continues will be undertaken throughout 2009
• Morrinsville New World Store: This new store will open mid 2009
• Southmall New World Fitout: This 3,600 sm fitout at Southmall Shopping Centre focused on utilising as much as possible the existing building infrastructure.
• Victoria Park New World Refurbishment: This major refurbishment is in construction and will open for Christmas 2008. The planning of refurbishment without affecting store trading has been the challenge together with achieving the right refurbishment scope to match the commerce.
• Hillcrest New World Supermarket - Hamilton: A new 3,300 sm store. Restrictive planning constraints on the site together with the need to integrate with neighbouring shops was a challenge in the masterplanning phase. The store opened Nov 2007.
• Mt Maunganui New World Supermarket - Mt Maunganui: A new 3,400 sm supermarket. Difficult ground conditions together with a particularly tight programme for this 2 storey building made this a challenge. It opened early Dec 2006 ready for the Christmas holiday trading
• Gate Pa New World Supermarket - Tauranga: A new 3,400 sm supermarket. Management of the limited notified Resource Consent approval required extensive liaison with neighbours and Council traffic engineers. Opened 2005
• 2004 PROCESS: Development of internal management project development processes and project procurement methodologies. This addressed the co-ordination between the various internal divisions and departments for the formulation of supermarket projects, their development and implementation including full fitout. The output was PROCESS, store development and implementation procedures with supporting key documents and controls.

AMP Capital Investors - 2005-2007

• Botany Town Centre Redevelopment 2005-2007: This has been developed through the masterplanning, concept, Resource Consenting, design development and working drawing phases including Building Consent and is now ready for construction
• LynnMall Shopping Centre 2005-2006: A masterplan review and preparation for changing District Plan requirements was part of the asset planning for this shopping centre.

Housing New Zealand 2005-2006

• Construction Contract Development 2005-2006: The development of a Construction Contract for national use entailed a significant consultation exercise across all departments

Development Consultant (Sigglekow Consulting Ltd ): 1998 - 2002

Sigglekow Consulting operated as an independent consultant in client representation, project management, facility studies and management assistance. For customer teams leadership and strength was provided at critical development stages. Integrating with existing teams and bringing value was the core customer benefit.

North Shore City 2000-03:

• North Shore Busway Project: Project Manager for design and project development. This required liaison with stakeholder parties and community consultation. Design management of the station buildings and infrastructure was a key component. Construction has since been completed.

Auckland Regional Council 2001-03:

• Project Manager for the Regional Passenger Transport Station Theming Design Competition. This entailed coordination with the 5 City Councils across the Region and including their transport planning officers in the development process. The brand MAXX has since been widely implemented.
• Project manager for development of the Theming Manual for passenger transport stations across the Auckland Region.
• Co-ordination for the theming provision guides to the 2003 major passenger transport facility designs for rail and ferry as well as Busway stations/terminals

Civic House Limited 2001:

• Development feasibility and concept development for the refurbishment of Civic House, Elliott St, Auckland.

Trevor Holt Trust 2002:

• Commercial assessment of development options for a South Auckland industrial site

University of Auckland 1999-2003:

• Preparation of the curriculum for Property Development, 3rd year paper for Bachelor of Property Degree, University of Auckland, Department of Property
• Senior lecturer (part time) 2000 - 2007 for Property Development (Recently reappointed for 2008)

Telco Asset Management 1999-2001 & 2004:

• Project Manager for the fitout of 4 Telecom Retail stores in key Auckland centres
• Project Manager for specialist fire protection upgrades to telecommunication sites throughout New Zealand.

Responsibility was for the NZ Business Development Plan and representation of the company in the market place to identify and cultivate business opportunities. Accountability was for account management and sales. A member of the NZ Senior Management Team. Specific projects personally overseen included:

Wellington Hospital Re-development:
Lend Lease Property Services - Development Manager for master planning, design development and commercial planning and approvals for capital expenditure to support the Capital Coast Health Business Plan, $50m. Masterplan and Development Report completed October 1997. This major planning exercise included management of $10m of capital works during this period.

Sheraton Hotel Room Refurbishment:
Senior Project Manager for the feasibility and concept study in 1994 and Project Director during the refurbishment, $16m. Completed in August 1997 for Nauru Phosphate Royalties Trust ahead of programme and set a new standard for Auckland hotel rooms.

Bruce Mason Theatre: Senior Project Manager for this full capability theatre and conference centre for North Shore City Council, $9m. Completed on schedule in August 1996 it won a BOMA Building Excellence Merit award for innovation and acoustic performance.

Takapuna Carpark: Senior Project Manager for this public carpark integrated with the Bruce Mason Centre for North Shore City Council, $2m.

Takapuna Commercial Building: Senior Project Manager for the feasibility study and concept development for this retail and commercial building integrated with the Bruce Mason Centre $3m.

Design Manager & Senior Project Manager: 1989 - 1997

As Design Manager accountability was for overseeing the NZ Project Managers. Services included strategising new business conversion and overseeing all customer commissions and contract negotiations. As Senior Project manager accountability was to oversee and participate in the team on designated major projects. A member of the NZ Senior Management Team. Projects personally overseen included:

Henry Bennett Centre:
Senior Project Manager for the business and design concept for this regional Psychiatric Hospital for Health Waikato in Hamilton, $18m. Complex but innovative design and contractual arrangements. Completed 3 months ahead of programme in September 1997. It set a new concept and standard for mental health facilities in NZ.

Henderson Square Shopping Centre Refurbishment & Extensions:
Senior Project Manager for the concept design of this re-development which has set new standards for environmental features, for St Lukes Group, $25m.

North Shore Sports Centre:
Senior Project Manager for this 5,000 seat multi-purpose indoor stadium for North Shore City, $9m. It was an innovator in NZ for sports-elastic-floor and retractable seating and was awarded the BOMA Building Excellence Award in 1993.

Waikato Hospital refurbishment:
Senior Project Manager for a diverse range of complex projects of compliance. This included campus fire protection, signage development, corporate theming, radiation bunker and Ward Refurbishment for Health Waikato, $10m.

Shades Mall Refurbishment:
Senior Project Manager for the feasibility study and Project Director for this shopping mall refurbishment in Christchurch for Tasman Properties, $3m.

North Shore Ambulance Station:
Senior Project Manager for the concept development and Project Director for the Order of St John, $3m.

Shore City Galleria Refurbishment:
Senior Project Manager for this shopping centre re-development which set a new Auckland benchmark as a Galleria concept, $18m for Biron Properties.

Senior Management Team Achievements:
Civil & Civic was the first organisation in NZ to receive ISO:9001 certification for project, design and construction management. Design and construction safety systems were developed and implemented a year before the NZ Health and Safety Act required them.

Resort Hotel Refurbishment:
For Thredbo Ski Resort Hotel Refurbishment and mountain catering study, $5m.
